healer cells

mY healer cells
spread their threads
slithering
caressingly,

mY healer cells
twist entwine
unravelling
touchingly,

mY healer cells
every wound
discolouring
bruisingly,

mY healer cells
leave a scar
remembering
forevererie,

mY healer cells
working hard
comforting
exhaustively,

so, excuse me,
mY healer cells
sometimes need
to weep;

mY healer cells
sacrifice
themselves for me
hoping
I don’t pick the scab
before they’ve had
some time to sleep.
