a single candle

a single candle
flickers
wicks the oxygen from the room,

a single flame
dances
sharing whispers from the shadows,

a single glint
captured
held, trapped inside the watchful eye,

a single breath
exhaled
shivering the edges of the dark,

a single warmth
feeling
subtle streams lick the fragile skin.
